Marriage Counseling & Couples Therapy in NJ & NY

When understanding is replaced by frustration, relationships begin to suffer.

Helping couples turn resentment and distance into compassion and connectedness.

If it’s important, it’s worth getting help that’s built for it.

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) I specialize in relationships, understanding how people relate, communicate, and reconnect. According to the AAMFT, 65% of cases are completed within 20 sessions, and 87% within 50 sessions, making MFTs a practical and efficient choice for therapy. (AAMFT).

A Roadmap Aimed for Results

Starting Point

A free 15-minute call gives you assurance right from the start. If it feels like we’re not the right fit, I’ll provide a trusted referral so you still move forward with support. There’s truly nothing to lose in taking this first step.

We begin with one structured session together as a couple, followed by one-on-one meetings with each partner. This balanced approach makes sure every voice is heard, covers all bases, and allows for the most accurate assessment to guide treatment. Couples often find this extremely useful.

Three-Session Assessment

You get the best results when progress is tracked, not assumed. At the three-month milestone, we celebrate the growth you’ve made and fine-tune where needed. This keeps momentum going and ensures the work you’re doing is paying off.

Three-Month Check-In

The moment where the work pays off. A relationship that feels vibrant, supportive, and lasting. It’s the beginning of a new chapter where love feels lighter, connection feels natural, and your partnership feels stronger.

What are LMFTs?

Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFTs) are trained professionals who to look beyond the individual and understand how behaviors, emotions, patterns, history, and stressors shape relationships.

  • Working with a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) isn’t just about solving problems; it’s about learning new ways to relate, connect and create lasting change that benefits everyone involved.

  • In New Jersey, becoming a licensed MFT takes years of education and hands-on experience. Therapists must earn a master’s degree in Marriage and Family therapy, complete 3,000 hours of supervised clinical work over at least two years post degree with majority of those hours requiring focus with couples and families. Additionally, must pass a national board exam specific for Marriage and Family Therapy- it focuses entirely on how people affect one another within families and partnerships. It’s known for being both rigorous and relational, ensuring every LMFT is deeply prepared to help couples and families build lasting connection and understanding. Unlike counseling or social work exams that center on individual treatment or case management, the MFT exam measures how well therapists can identify patterns, guide communication, and create change between people. Every session of supervision and every client hour is designed to ensure they’re well-equipped to handle complex emotional and relational challenges.

  • Relationship-focused work is not covered unless a diagnosable mental health condition is present. Because every situation is different, feel free to reach out so we can review your options together.
